ICRC International Red Cross
While states have ratified key international legal conventions, many people are still bound more to their religious beliefs and traditions than the abstract texts of international law. Acknowledging this fact, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) engages worldwide with religious scholars, academics, humanitarian workers and other segments of civil society to explore correspondences between humanitarian principles and religious teachings.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2017, the ICRC interviewed religious leaders and faith-based humanitarians in ASEAN to highlight convergences between humanitarian and religious principles.
”Faith in Humanity”, screened in Manila for the ASEAN Chairmanship of the Philippines and Jakarta and Bali as part of the 100% Manusia Film festival.
